The Chicken Littles of the government shutdown

What if they had a government shutdown and nobody noticed? If you’re one of the few Americans who has actually had to go without pay, I apologize. My point is the doom and gloom and Armageddon of a partial government shutdown foretold by the Democrats never materialized. It was similar to the apocalyptic predictions of tax cuts. Instead, the economy has been on fire. We added 312,000 new jobs in December, far above the 180,000 that were predicted by the so-called experts. Hispanic unemployment has now hit yet another historic low.

Despite the tweets, despite the vulgarity, despite his stepping on his own message, Donald Trump knows what he’s doing. He decided to run for president in order to make America great again and he’s delivering big league. And the Democrats have become the obstructionist party just for the sake of obstructing. They were for the border wall before they were against it. And they’re against it simply because President Trump wants it. The game plan is to make sure he doesn’t get anything he wants. If he does, their reign in the House will be short-lived.

To illustrate how desperate they are, the Democrats are now calling a wall ‘immoral.’ Immoral? Is the wall around the Vatican immoral? What’s immoral is allowing thousands of Americans to die at the hands of illegal aliens each year and not build a wall to stop them. The open borders crowd seems to carve out an exception for those streaming across our southern border. They would never go for allowing planeloads of people to enter JFK without going through Customs. It’s hypocrisy at its highest.

Yes, Donald Trump said Mexico was going to pay for the wall. Chance are they’re not. That doesn’t mean we don’t need it. It doesn’t mean we don’t build it. In the meantime, thousands of government employees hang in the balance. Yes, they’ll get back pay, but making it without a paycheck is tough. It’s something we shouldn’t subject anyone to. Trump said he’d take responsibility for the shutdown, but is he really responsible? He’s asking for $5 billion to get started on the wall. In Washington terms that’s chump change.

The National Priorities Project, a left-wing, pro-big government organization out of Massachusetts, compiled a list of nine things we should buy with the $5 billion instead of the wall. They listed things like doubling federal spending on energy efficiency and renewable energy. Can you say Solyndra? We blew a half-billion on that boondoggle, and it was just one of many. We’ve spent over $155 billion on green energy with little to nothing to show for it.

NPP suggested giving the EPA a 60 percent pay raise instead of building the wall. Seriously? Look, I’m all for clean air and clean water, but the EPA has gone nuts as of late. Their obsession with this fantasy of manmade global warming is costing us billions. If anything, we should be cutting out the dead wood at the EPA, not giving 60 percent pay raises.

They want to increase federal spending on public K-12 schools by 30 percent. Schools should never be funded by the federal government. That’s the responsibility of states. More federal money means more federal strings attached. Anybody remember Michelle Obama taking over the lunchroom? Or George W’s ‘No Child Left Behind?’

And they want to give the $5 billion to the National Endowment for the Arts. I guess so we can fund more crucifixes in urine.

Build the wall. It’s a project long overdue. And let’s make America safe again.

Telling the truth about illegal aliens is not racist

The accusations of racism have been taken to a whole new level. Now it’s racist to run an ad featuring a convicted illegal alien cop killer bragging about his crime. This is where we are in America. The networks pulled a Trump ad just before the midterms that featured Luis Bracamontes, convicted of killing two cops, saying in a courtroom, “Only thing that I regret is that I just killed two.” CNN’s Wolf Biltzer called it a “rather racist ad.” NBC said in an e-mail, “After further review, we recognize the insensitive nature of the ad and have decided to cease airing it across our properties as soon as possible.” Fox News and Facebook pulled the ad as well.

Illegal alien cop killer Luis Bracamontes
Luis Bracamontes broke into our country. Two police officers would be alive today had we kept him out. The point of the ad is we have another caravan of potentially illegal aliens heading to our border. How many Luis Bracamonteses are among them?

Not fair, you say? Most of these people are fleeing poverty and violence? You would be right, but how many among them are criminals? DHS has already positively identified over 270 convicted criminals among them. Some news outlets have identified MS13 gang members and people who admit to having been deported from our country, some multiple times. Identifying a threat to our country is not racism.

If the people who support the caravan truly believe that most of the people in the caravan are decent people then they should welcome legal entry into the country. The truth is most will not be granted asylum because poverty, in and of itself, is no precondition. In fact, Mexico has already offered the caravaners asylum. They are out of Honduras. They are out of harm’s way. Why not take Mexico up on the offer? Because organizations like People Without Borders, who are coordinating the trek north, are not interested in the safety of these people. Their goal is to push the amnesty issue in America. Their goal is to push the agenda of open borders.

This economy is so red hot right now that we have more job openings than people to fill them. We’re told it’s the first time that’s happened since they started keeping records. Common sense would tell you that we’re going to have to import labor to fill the rest of those jobs. Most people have no problem with that. How do we do it? By allowing hordes of illegal aliens to stream across the border, or do we do this in an orderly fashion by matching laborers to jobs and making sure criminals are not taking those jobs? It’s just common sense.

Two-thirds of the people coming across our border from Mexico come legally. That’s a very important point to remember. If two-thirds can come the legal way, what’s up with the other third?

For anyone who thinks illegal aliens should be allowed to come to this country the wrong way I have a question for you. Do you believe a planeload of passengers from Paris should just get off the plane at JFK and bypass customs? If not, why not? What’s the difference between bypassing the border checkpoint at JFK and bypassing the border checkpoint at Laredo, Texas? Spoiler alert: There isn’t a difference.

Illegal immigration is a public safety issue, pure and simple. No reasonable person can believe that allowing illegals to stream across the border without going through background checks is a safe thing to do. And no reasonable person can believe an ad that points that out is racist.

Brace yourself for Reconquista

A reconquistador has been elected president of Mexico. Why should you be concerned that Andrés Manuel López Obrador is the next president of Mexico? Because his agenda will have a tremendous impact on the United States.

First, what is a reconquistador? You must first understand what the modern Reconquista movement is all about. Reconquista means reconquest. Many south of the border believe the American Southwest was stolen from them. They want it back. Mexico obviously doesn’t have the military might to do it so their plan is to flood as many people as they can into the region and vote it back to Mexico.

This all started after the Mexican-American War. To give you a better sense of the attitude, the Mexican-American War, or Mexican War, is known in Mexico as the American Intervention in Mexico. Texas had fought for its independence from Mexico and won it on April 21, 1836. Texas petitioned to become a state of the United States and did so on December 29, 1845.

Mexico had only gained its independence from Spain in 1821 so they were eager to hang on to every acre of land they could. In April of 1846 the Mexican army invaded the United States in the new state of Texas. We declared war on Mexico the following month and the Mexican-American War thus began.

We drove the Mexican army all the way back to Mexico City and in 1848 they were defeated. We agreed to pay them $15 million for the physical damage of the war and for the disputed territories. We also agreed to assume another $3.25 million in debt the Mexican government owed United States citizens. When the dust settled the Mexicans had lost over a third of the territory they had when they won their independence from Spain just 27 years prior. They were not happy.

To add insult to injury, just a year later, in 1849, something happened in California, a new territory we had just won and bought from Mexico. Gold was discovered. That really hacked them off. Thus was born the modern Reconquista movement.

Now, if you’re prone to believe this is just a conspiracy theory I invite you to do an Internet search and see for yourself. The stated goal of the reconquistadors is to take back the American Southwest for La Raza, the race. They mean the race of people in Mexico, which is not technically a race, but you get the picture. The plan is to flood the Southwest with enough people to take over the area politically and cede it back to Mexico. You may think this is far-fetched but it’s not. California is already 40 percent Hispanic. Same for Texas.

That’s certainly not to say that every Hispanic is somehow suspect and not loyal to the United States. Frankly, it’s hard to know how many Hispanics are part of the Reconquista movement. We must simply take those who are at their word. Mario Obledo, a La Raza lawyer and Reconquista leader said, “California is going to be a Hispanic state. Anyone who doesn’t like it should leave.” A professor in LA suggested Latinos needed to speak in code so non-Latinos wouldn’t catch on.

Once you research the Reconquista movement you’ll see a lot about Aztlan. According to Aztec legend, that’s the rightful land of the indigenous peoples of Mexico. It includes the American Southwest. They refer to it as their “occupied homeland.”

Remember what you read here. When the next wave of illegal aliens hits the southern border you’ll know why. La Reconquista is on.

Illegal caravan heads our way

Like a slow swarm of bees we watch the caravan of illegals move across Mexico toward the border with the United States. Now they have a list of demands. No, I’m serious. The group Pueblo sin Fronteras, which means Town Without Borders, demands that we respect their rights as refugees and their right to dignified work. They demand that we open our border because they are “as much citizens as the people of the countries” where they travel.

No, you aren’t.

And that’s the basic point in all of this. Look, I understand Honduras is, well, what President Trump said of some of those third world countries some time back. I’ve been there. Beautiful country from the standpoint of nature but it looks like a landfill. Trash and shanties everywhere. My gosh, you should see the spaghetti of wires wrapped around the utility poles. Obviously there’s nothing resembling a codes department there. The reason it looks like a dump is because it, like many other third world countries, is a corruptocracy. That’s my word, by the way. It ought to be in the dictionary.

This group also has some demands for Central American countries which really nails the problem. They demand an end to political corruption. They demand an end to violence against women and the LGBTQIA community. (Don’t ask me what all those letters stand for.) They demand an end to failures for victims of domestic violence, extortion, threats, and homophobia. They demand an end to corruption between gangs, the police, and the government, and an end to murder with impunity and gang recruitment of youth.

All that’s good stuff. Then why are you coming here? What if these corruptocracies meet your demands? You won’t be there to enjoy the fruits of your labor. You don’t need to march to America, my friends inside Town Without Borders. You need a revolution.

Let me tell you a little story about how we got all this cool stuff in America. Once upon a time we had carved a civilization out of a wilderness. We were pretty much self-sufficient. We had built our own cities, made our own laws, created our own businesses. It then dawned on us that we were paying taxes to a country clear across an ocean yet we had no representation in its parliament. We decided we didn’t want those people telling us what to do. So we took up arms and we fought them for our own country. We won, and we fought over a heckuva lot less than you folks are fighting over down there.

From our end, we need to cut off all aid to any and all of these corruptocracies. Honduras, El Salvador, and Guatemala receive $750 million in what’s called the Northern Triangle aid package. We buy $4.8 billion worth of goods from Honduras each year. Stop both of those until Honduras cleans up its act. Same for Mexico. Same for El Salvador and Guatemala and any country that keeps its citizens in poverty.

The interesting part is this Northern Triangle aid package is contingent upon their proving that they are improving “human rights, law enforcement, and justice.” If we have a thousand-plus caravan of refugees heading for the United States then apparently they have not improved much of anything.

So, turn the caravan around. Head back to Honduras. Demand change. We’ll help you apply the pressure. And if all else fails, do what we did. Take up arms and take your own country back. Because you don’t have a right to come in here no matter what you’ve been told.
